Privacy Policy

This policy explains what data the Memøries app ("Memøries", "we", "us") collects, why, and how you can control it. Memøries is a photo-organizing app for Android. Most of what the app does — browsing your gallery, AI categorization, face grouping, editing — happens entirely on your device and never leaves it. The sections below cover the parts that do involve a server.

Data we collect

What we don't do

• We don't sell your data to anyone.
• We don't upload your whole photo library without your say-so — only favorites and albums you've explicitly turned backup on for.
• We don't share your photos with other people unless you deliberately share an album with them.
• We don't use your photos to train AI models. All AI processing (categorization, face grouping, blur detection) runs on your device.

Who we share data with

We use a small number of service providers to run the app. Each only receives what it needs to do its job:

• Supabase — account authentication and the database that stores your profile, favorites, and album metadata.
• Backblaze B2 — cloud storage for the actual photo/video files you back up.
• RevenueCat and Google Play Billing — subscription management and payment processing. We never see or store your payment card details.
• Google AdMob — shows ads to free-tier users and reads the advertising ID for that purpose.
• Google Sign-In — optional sign-in method, if you choose to use it instead of email.
• Cloudflare — hosts this website and the backend that handles album sharing links.

None of these providers are permitted to use your data for their own purposes beyond providing the service to us.

Your choices

• Delete your account: email us at the address below and we'll delete your account, profile, and any photos backed up to the cloud. Photos on your device are unaffected — deletion only applies to what's in the cloud.
• Turn off backup: disable backup per-album or for favorites at any time in the app; new photos stop uploading immediately.
• Ads: subscribing to any paid plan removes ads entirely. You can also limit ad personalization in your Android device's Google settings.
• Permissions: photo library and location access can be revoked at any time in Android Settings → Apps → Memøries → Permissions. The app will simply have less to work with if you do.

Children

Memøries is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them. Account creation requires an email address, same as any general-audience app.

Security

Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS). Access to your data in our database is restricted using row-level security tied to your account — other users cannot read your data.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
